Comprehensive programs designed to empower children, caregivers, and teachers, ensuring high-quality early learning and holistic development.
The Foundation’s Early Childhood Care & Education programme focuses on three key initiatives: Teacher & Caregiver Training, Establishment of Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centres, and a Training Centre for Childcare Workers. These initiatives aim to improve the quality of education, care, and support for children and their primary and secondary caregivers.
This initiative enhances the effectiveness of caregivers and educators working with children aged 0–12. Curated training equips them to create dynamic, developmentally appropriate learning environments.
Teachers and caregivers are trained in child development theories, active learning, play-based education, behavioral management, digital literacy, and continuous assessment techniques. The goal is to foster educators capable of nurturing children’s academic, social, and emotional growth.
Expected Outcome: A cadre of highly skilled educators delivering engaging and nurturing learning experiences that improve learning outcomes.
Our Centres aim to create accessible, high-quality learning environments for children under 5 years old. Over the next year, we will collaborate with local authorities to establish 10 centres.
Each centre provides a curriculum tailored to developmental needs, emphasizing early literacy, numeracy, and social skills based on the nurturing care framework. Health and nutrition initiatives are integrated to promote child well-being.
Parent and community engagement ensures that centres meet local needs and enjoy ongoing support, creating safe, stimulating, and supportive environments for children to thrive.
Located in Busia County, the Training Centre serves both existing and new childcare workers. It provides a comprehensive curriculum covering early childhood education, child protection, safeguarding, and social-emotional development.
Practical training includes first aid, hygiene, nutrition, professional ethics, and career development, ensuring workers are fully equipped to provide high-quality care in ECD centres and communities.
Outcome: A well-trained workforce capable of delivering high-quality early learning and care across Kenya.
