The Shima Leadership Academies Foundation creates opportunities for young girls and boys from marginalised backgrounds to access quality education and training opportunities that would usually not be readily available to them.
Our work addresses significant inequalities in society that limit the potential of a growing majority of young people, particularly women, to access the tools and training they need to achieve their highest potential.
Through formal and informal education, we utilise experiential methods to ensure that young women and men get the best shot at achieving their potential while enabling them to address challenges facing society including unemployment, sexual and gender-based violence, poor access to quality education, environmental degradation as well as stigma faced by people with mental health disabilities in society.
Our aim is to develop vibrant, balanced, purposeful and creative thinkers that will positively impact their communities now and in the future.
We provide quality formal and informal education that provides young people with the skills and knowledge they need to make informed choices in life – whether it is further education or work.
We build the capacity of individuals and organizations to improve their management and leadership skills for improved service delivery, client satisfaction & organizational growth. Above all, we look at good management and leadership skills as key to anyone interested in building just societies.
Through the Lluna Leadership Academy for Girls and tailored educational products, we affirm the importance of creative and strategic thinking in facilitating the building of just societies where all citizens can achieve their rights.
